ROYALTON, Ky. – An 8-mile section of the Dawkins Line Rail Trail will be temporarily closed on Oct. 24 for a special event.
The trail will be closed to the public from Royalton to Swamp Branch from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for an equestrian event involving horses and buggies. The closure is for safety purposes.

The Dawkins Line Rail Trail is an 18-mile trail running from Johnson County to Magoffin County at Royalton. It will eventually be 36 miles and end in Breathitt County.
The trail is managed by the Kentucky Department of Parks.
